Advertising Expenditure in the Main Media for the six months to June 2006.

CEASA released its Main Media advertising revenue figures for the six months ended June 2006 to clients on 14th, indicating that the increase over the same period in 2005 was 3.8% to $4,932,912,000.

On the basis of the revised 2005 June six months figures -

Metropolitan Daily & Sunday Newspapers were $1,073.4 million, down by 6.3%.

Magazines were $339.4 million, up by 4.0%.

Free to Air Television was $1,494 million, stable.

Subscription Television was $100 million, up by 34.3%.

Radio was $425 million, up by 2.1%.

Online was $425 million, up by 60.1%.

Outdoor was $174 million, up by 13.1%

Cinema was $42 million, up by 2.1%

CEASA Managing Director, Bernard Holt, commented that some of the reasons for the soft advertising market would be discussed at the 7th annual CEASA Marketing & Media Forum on November 13th.
